Emery's Nursery

I have finally finished putting little Em's nursery together, and I am so excited that it is actually complete! I am only about...nine months late? Kind of funny, that is about the amount of time that I carried the little bug in my tummy for. Yikes, time is skipping on ahead no matter how hard I wish it not to. This nursery was SUPPOSED to be brand new and ready for a squishy little newborn, and is now instead where my almost-walking and kind of talking (kitty kitty, bye bye and mama totally count right?) nine month old sleeps.

I'm not entirely sure what I would even call the theme or decor of this nursery. Eclectic feather fox maybe? I was mostly inspired by the gold and jewel tones in the glittery feather garland that I made for the wall space above the crib. My initial plan for the room was a gender neutral woodland animal theme. I kind of got stuck on foxes, and then of course some bunnies with a little bit of help from my sister Kelci. I have recently come to the conclusion that I fill my Kelci void with bunny things (they are her favorite animal, she is absolutely obsessed) and have accumulated bunny themed items ranging from throw pillows to Emery's snuggle blanket. Anyway, here are some photos of Emery's finally completed room. I know it is kind of a random mix of things, but I absolutely love it all! It feels so good to have that beautiful chaos migrate from my mind to real life.

The giraffe painting was a gift from my talented sister Kelci. The fox on the lower left was a thank you card from the Kimbles that I hung onto because I liked it so much (Thanks guys!). I painted the little orange fox on the bottom right, and the other four were free printables that I found on Pinterest. Twinkle Twinkle, Feathers, E print, and the "Little Bug" print I created from this neat website that lets you shape a bunch of words into any shape that you want.

The beautiful fox cross stitch was a gift for Emery from Grandma Lisa.

I love these cute little blocks from Little Sapling Toys.

I collected this colorful basket from IKEA, and super soft and beautiful blanket by Busy Spinning Thread.

Another gorgeous piece from the talented Kelci.

My absolute favorite picture of when I first put up the feathers for Emery.
Emery's favorite elephant that she enjoys talking to every morning.

I found this sweet snuggle blanket online from H&M. It is sooooo soft, and the perfect little size. And of course, covered in adorable little bunny rabbits :)

And now for fun, here are a few photos that I snapped of what the room looked like before we fixed up the house.

Decorating nurseries is my jam. It makes me so giddy inside. Thanks for checking it out!

Ellie's Pink and Gold Dinosaur Party

Ellie has a slight obsession with dinosaurs lately, so when we decided to have a party for her third birthday, I couldn't help but use them as a theme. I wanted to mix it up a little bit, so I decided to be a little unconventional and decorate a pink and gold "girly" dinosaur party. The ideas of gold T-rexes and pink flowery dinosaur cookies were just too exciting for me to resist. I absolutely love putting my creativity, which quite honestly has been put on the back burner lately since adopting the Monny title, to work on things like this. I wanted to share a few photos of the girly dinosaur party decor that I had so much fun putting together.

These were the invitations that had to "hatch" out of their dinosaur eggs, along with some fun confetti of course. I am such a nerd. And yes, I eat a lot of eggs.

This one time, I scooped ice cream and decorated cakes at Baskin Robbins for a living. Making and decorating these cookies sure brought me back!

The set-up, pre chips and dip and veggie straws (those things are amazing by the way, if you haven't tried them you need to right now)

I used this cute little printable for the cupcakes.

Finally, the Elliesaurus birthday girl, before she turned into a raging, sugar-fueled maniac. We love you so much Little Bean! Happy 3rd Birthday!!

Thank you to everyone that helped us celebrate, it was such a blast. A definite whirlwind of crazy chaos, but so much fun. I wish I had remembered to capture pictures during the party, but honestly, they probably would have just been a blurry mess anyway. Three year olds sure don't stop moving. Ever.
Now to go find a spot somewhere in my house to display that awesome gold T-Rex...

Ellie's Nursery

I am having a little bit of a sentimental Sunday here. I don't know if it is because I have been thinking about my friends' upcoming little bundles as I see their beautiful bellies grow, or maybe because I still have the number of weeks pregnant I am supposed to be with Grace still marked in my calendar on every Tuesday, but I just have little newborns stamped on the inside of my eyelids, and keep thinking about Ellie as a tiny brand new life. So fresh and new and helpless, wanting nothing more than to be held, and fed, and changed, and fed, and loved, and fed. It was such a whirlwind rush of a time, and I wish there was some sort of button I could push to take me back whenever I wanted. To see those brand new wrinkly little hands and toes, see those adorably awkward little chicken legs, smell that new baby smell, and hear those little squeaks and coos. I love sitting in the large gray chair in Ellie's nursery, sometimes while she is playing around me, sometimes alone while she is with Kevin downstairs, remembering all of these things. It's the closest thing besides skimming through photos that I ever get to it all. I adore that room, even if it melts me down into a mushy little sap. Kevin and I put so much time and love into making it the best space our new baby could ever want, until we could finally fill it with the truest creation of our absolute love and affection for each other, our little Ellie Bean.

While I know I posted a before and after photo of the room sometime on Facebook, I don't think that I ever shared the ultimate final result. So here it is!
